In slum of Kemadoran area of west Jakarta chikens are slaughtered for markets all over Jakarta. There are 300 families in buseness of slathering and cleaning chikens meat. Job is done from 6p.m. till 2am when meat is transported to Jakarta markets. Each family are slathering about 30 chikens and make about 70Us$ a month at present time of outbreak of bird blu

The bird flu photos taken in Kemandoran just reminded me how close it is to me. I live in an apartment overlooking the area. Yes, I know those alleys. It is dark and a matter of survival.
